Professional activities
Teaching
My teaching extends through semester 1 of 2022. From semester 2 of 2022 through 2026, my Google-sponsored research agreement carries no teaching load.
- Quantum information: taught and convened Masters courses in 2016–2018, and taught MRes/PhD courses in 2020–2022, including Sydney Quantum Academy students. I developed new introductory material in 2021.
- Quantum mechanics and general relativity: lectured and convened third-year courses during 2016–2020.
- Advanced physics: ran the second-semester component of the second- and third-year Advanced Physics units in 2020–2021.
- Professional physics: helped establish this PACE and capstone unit, organising placements, workshops and presentations during 2017–2022, and convening it in 2019.
- Mathematical methods: taught honours courses in 2008 and 2012, and Masters courses in 2013–2019, preparing notes and assessments on differential equations and running Mathematica labs.
- Earlier teaching: honours lectures on quantum information, quantum algorithms and Fourier analysis; first-year physics tutorials; and engineering-physics laboratory teaching at the University of Queensland.
